Septic & Holding Tanks
A septic tank is the most common form of underground waste disposal for any home beyond the reach of the municipal system.
They dispose of waste, by separating the solids from the liquids. The solids are broken down by bacteria and are then passed out of the tank along with the waste water.
A holding tank only provides containment of the waste. It is typically used in areas where a septic field is not permited, or the home usage is seasonal. These sealed concrete tanks are designed to contain waste and prevent leaks. Once it is full it must be pumped out.
